Jie Mei (sisters)

Now that Cate has settled down into a happy camper, the real bonds of sisterhood are beginning to form. When Cate was distressed, Grace rose to the occasion. Now they are competing, playing, arguing, hitting, and thwarting each others' attempts to get mommy's attention (you know--being sisters). They want exactly what the other one has at all times--needed, liked or not. But it is all worth it when the giggling starts and does not stop for 30 minutes to an hour at a time.

I can almost hear the giggling from here!

When I showed Mom the picture of you with Grace and Cate on the steps, she burst into happy tears.

I have updated Nannie on your story as it has unfolded, and she is so glad that you've made it past the toughest part. I hope Cate likes chocolate chip cookies as much as Grace, because Nannie's been making them non-stop!

We all send you our love and wishes for nothing but sunshine and happy times for the rest of your trip!

We are so happy to hear that everyone is settling in. We are getting more and more excited about meeting Cate and seeing Grace.

Anne: Several of us were thinking of you yesterday at a Wachovia conference where journalist Lisa Ling shared a video segment from Oprah (I think) she did about adoption of Chinese girls.
